Let me clue in the people who have not been reading between the lines:
1) The furore is not over the teaching of the subject but over the handbooks and guide materials given to teachers to guide them as to how to frame subjects.
2) Some of things objected to include topics for essays including:
(a) If there were no clothes.......
(b) If there were no condoms.......
3) One of these people even had the guts to talk about dealing with the printed matter in the sex ed books under the provisons created for prosecution of James Laines for his book on Shivaji in our Vidhan Sabha.....Someone should tell that idiot that those provisons deal with communal divides caused by written matter, before he puts his foot in it deeper. Since when will teaching sex ed lead to comunal disharmony ?
4) Maharashtra has one of the highest rates of AIDs/ HIV occourance in India and the general cocensus is this is because of the lack of sex ed and sexal awareness. Put this in context with the fact that one of the sections of the new proposed sex ed deals specifically with AIDs and how to avoid it.
5) lastly but not least , they objected to the nude epictions of the human form in the books. Pssstt...I kept my eye open on a drive from Bandra to Andheri and have enclosed some of the ads plastered across the sky which these jokers may think is a better medium for their children to learn the human anatomy from.
And to top it off:
Lasty, I look at these jokers who burnt the books in the House and a thought crosses my mind --these are the same jokers who some time later will turn around and say that they are pure hindus and that Saraswati the Godess of learning & books is their godess, but then in Politics who even bothers about their mothers forget about their godesses.
The thought that crosses my mind is -- I wonder how many of them will go to see the movie whose posters I have enclosed with their children and will their children ever dare to ask them what are the different parts of the anatomy shown in different states of undress in the posters in the lobby of the movie theatre.
Opps --- someone just suggested to me that perhaps in order to pacify these khadi clad creatures we should have sex ed more along the lines of songs like "Choli Ke peechee kya hai" which would act as a very good substitute.

Or perhaps what would make more sense to a 8th standard (target audience for sex ed) is an explanation of the meaning of the words "Sexy Sexy sexy, mujhe log bole, hi sexy , helo sexy, kyun bole"

Keeping on the subject of sex.
Lets all give a standing ovation to the supreme court. Time after time they have scored a six after six. My personal opinion is that if anything in India is working the way it should its the judiciary. The only problem is that they are swamped.
The reason I'm so elated is simple. We had them come up with Jessica Lal verdict, the Delhi sealing, Mattoo case. The list goes on and on.
They have finally put the cherry on the cake. They have dared to enter the hallowed ground of marriage qand the warped sexual norms we have today.
The verdict yesterday, litterally had me flying out of my seat. The jist of it is that "no person can deny conjugal rights to the other partner for any undue length of time without medical reason. If
they do it can be considered as grounds for divorce under mental cruetly"
they do it can be considered as grounds for divorce under mental cruetly" Unbelieveable ! Bravo ! It takes guts to speak about that unspeakable fact in a land full of moral hipocrites who absorb queen Victoria's prudism and then call it our culture.
Very simply as per the supreme court, no sex for too long = mental cruelty. Ask any of us who have been denied it for undue lengths of time. It is mental cruelty.
Post announcement , we ofcourse got the regular bunch of jokers shooting their mouths off on Zee News. The Lady on there really took the cake, Ranjana Kumari I think she was called, a so called womans activist. She kept harping on about a woman not wanting a kid for years and she should not be forced to since she was the one who takes care of the kid.
Wait a minute! does that mean that everytime a couple has sex , the woman gets pregant. Or that the only reason people have sex is for reproduction. Or that there are no men who take care of children.
I really pity her husband since she looked like she'd already had a kid or two so I guess hes not getting any anymore. That female certainly sounded as if she had never heard of Condoms or birth control
Dear Madam Ranjana one think you must know, some of us have sex simply because we like sex.
